2011: A Year in Review at Turtleduck Press

The past year has been an exciting one for us here at Turtleduck Press, and I’d like to recap some of the highlights for those of you who are just finding us.

We launched our website December 1, 2010, with three book releases:

These were the first publications for all three authors, and we were kept very busy learning about marketing and promotion as well as e-publishing and POD considerations.

Over the course of 2011, three more books came out:

  • In April we released another book of poetry, Without Wings, also by Erin Zarro.
  • In August we released His Faithful Squire, the sequel to Knight Errant.
  • In December we put out our first collaborative effort, the Winter’s Night anthology, featuring stories and poetry by Kit Campbell, Siri Paulson, KD Sarge, and Erin Zarro, edited by yours truly.

In every month that we did not release a work for sale, we put up a free short story on our website to give readers a taste of what to expect from our books. They will remain free indefinitely, and you can access them all on our Freebies page.

We’ve also been blogging all year. Some of the highlights from our blog:

Do you have any other favourite TDP blog posts from 2011? Let us know and we’ll add them here.

So what can you expect from Turtleduck Press in 2012? More of the same, and better, we hope! KD Sarge and I are hard at work editing her next novel in the same ‘verse, and Erin is releasing some free poetry. What else? We hope you’ll stick around to find out!
