2012: Looking Ahead

Now that we’ve been in business for a little over the year, we here at Turtleduck Press have had a chance to look at how things have been going and discuss some changes that we’d like to make.

Here’s what you’ll see upcoming:

Specialized Imprints

We have six books out now and hope to continue to bring you quality works as time goes on, but to help you find what you’re looking for easier, we’re going to start releasing books under imprints, specifically adult speculative, YA/MG speculative, and poetry. They’ll have their own sections here on the website.

New Membership Opportunities

We’ve made some changes to our editing and submission process in-house, and soon we’ll be able to accept new members to Turtleduck Press. If you’ve got a speculative fiction or poetry manuscript and think you’ll be a good fit for us, keep an eye out. We’ll have more information on this in a few months.

Changes on the Website and Blog

KD likes to tinker, and we like to let her tinker. You’ll see some reorganization of the website as the year goes on, as well as other potential changes. Also, while the blog will be continuing to post on Tuesdays, any time there’s an extra Tuesday in a month, we’ll try to have something special for you.

New Stories

And, of course, what sort of indie publisher would we be if we didn’t have new things for you to read? We’ll have major releases in April, August, and December as always, with short stories and poems free here on the website each month in between, but we hope that soon we’ll be able to increase that amount. Check back!

2012’s shaping up to be a good year, and we hope that you’ll spend it with us.
